Open Question: 2 weeks with no pay- wont get paid for another month-but need money?

Hello everybody, Here is my situation. After constantly looking for work for the past 6 month, i finally found a job in my trade. i started just over two weeks ago and got my hours in. I havent gotten any papers yet, to sign. I am right out of money and need to get paid. the boss says i wont get paid for another 4 weeks. i dont have gas to even get to work anymore. no food in the fridge and no money for rent, i asked for an advance at least, but he wont give me that either. I havent talked wages with him yet, but i am expecting 25$/h i do stucco as a trade. i heard i can put a lean on the building, and one worker said something about i need my own Gst number, but even with that, my boss wont pay me for another month. please tell me if there is a legal way for me to get my money, or what else i could do. thanks a lot, please excuse my broken English, (i immigrated to BC in 2004 from Germany) thanks Daniel
