Open Question: Relocating to new town & Looking for Employment...?

I am relocating to a new town due to the break up of my marriage. I have found an apartment that I can move into in 2 months in a town I've always wanted to live in. Should I wait until it's closer to my move-in date to start applying for work? If I apply now, should I tell the prospective employer that I wont be able to start for 2 months in the cover letter? During/after an interview? Thanks!!
