Open Question: Please Answer. Need help with Maternity Leave/Aflac Short-Term Disability please!?

I am 37 weeks pregnant and work full-time for a very small company (only 4 employees). The CFO states he cannot afford to pay me for maternity leave and suggested I file for Short-term Disability through Aflac. I am a key employee and I am not certain if I will be returning to work full-time or at all for that matter. What will happen if I accept the money from Aflac and do not return to work full-time or I do not return to work at all?? Will I owe my employer or Aflac the money back?? How does this work?? I greatly appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
