We are in the process of fixing our credit scores. He basically has no credit right now. I have 6 credit cards that are all paid off right now. If I add him as joint owner on all of them, would that raise his score, since he has all the money available, or would that hurt it, since it might look like he applied for that much credit all on the same day? I talked to one card, they are adding him as joint owner, and they said they wouldn't have to pull his credit at all since the account is open. What do you think??

I work for a nation-wide food franchise and every night I work, we throw out a ton of food (bread, vegetables and meat). I was wondering if we were to donate the left-over food to charity if we could be held legally responsible if anything were to happen. Should we not donate the meat? I hate to be so detailed about something so personal, I have always had pretty heavy periods, since i started getting them, But never this bad, Since i had my daughter, 19 months ago, my periods have just been awful. I psyhical pour soo much blood it scares me, I leak all threw my pants, i have bloodclots, sometimes i wont even notice and its jus pouring out of me... my periods are only about 5-7 days long, but for the whole time the bleeding is very heavy, i thought it was because after having my daughter my uterus tilted backwards, i thought maybe that could cause the heavier bleeding, but it doesnt it jus gives me sevre cramps in my back and lower stomach, I asked my doctor yesterday, and told him about it, and all he suggested was birth control to help slow it down. But i do not want to go on birth control, for me and my husband want to have another child soon, but im worried with the bleeding i have to even get pregnant, im not sure if something is wrong, but i booked a psyhical for next week, im also worried that since i had my daughter i have had abnormal cells, and im really starting to freak out, does anyone else have periods like this, or know what it could be caused from? I dont bleed in between periods, and im usualy on time, im jus starting to get concerned for my health and my doctor hasnt really given me any answers.

I took out several commercial student loans from one company. The first few disbursements had the same interest rate, then the next four disbursements had a higher rate. I intended to separate out the higher interest ones and pay those first, when I had the money. But my loans were "sold" to another loan company awhile back. Do I still retain all the rights I had with my first loan company now that they've been transferred? Open Question: tax return after filing injured spouse form?

I filed the injured spouse form for my tax return and i know that it takes 8 weeks so before the form was filed and i went online to check the status of my refund it would say it was reduced due to a past due obligation and say how much. Now when i check the status the refund amount is changed and tells me when it will be direct deposited in my bank account but is not there i've read on some posts that they issue a paper check not direct deposit I'm just wondering if it will be direct deposited since it says so even though here would said would be or are they going to send a paper check? I recently injured my shoulder at work because a client attacked me, I turned it in to my boss and then went to the dr the next day, they dr put me on light duty for 1 week and then i was realesed to return back to work with normal hours, Now my boss has cut my hours from 39 hours to 24 hours a week, I believe she knows she cannot fire me but can she legally cut my hours like this? My shoulder has not been improving therefore now the dr wants me to have a MRI done this week because he believe there maybe some permanate damage, but im still questioning the loss of hours and if she can do that when I have a full release right now? Okay please read this before you answer! I'm selling my Macbook on Craigslist. There's someone from out of state that wants to buy it and pay through PayPal. Here's my concern ... they may send me the money on PayPal, I ship it to them, they receive the laptop and then file a dispute that it doesn't work or something and get all their money back and KEEP the laptop (the laptop works perfectly). How can I ensure that I will not be scammed? I need to make sure that PayPal has proof that my laptop works and that I sent it in case he files a claim or something. What should I do to prepare for that? Also - if he does file a claim, will I be notified and able to make a counter argument before they rip the funds out of my account? Thanks guys!

My daughter moved here to Miami from Atlanta 3 children and Boyfriend. Soon she got a job children where settled in schools doing very well. Boyfriend got a job but was laid off due to back injures of a car accident. She is now doing temp work, but the boyfriend has not been able to find anyway gainful employment. Open Question: Is it wrong to work off the clock?

Tonight at work, my manager had asked an employee I was working with to clock out and still help me with closing she needed labor to go down. Then at the end of the shift as we are closing up, she texted the employee I was working with and told her to tell me to clock out, cause it was eleven thirty and we are suppose to be off the clock, but she still wanted the store clean since we were not finished with everything. I thought it was against the law to work off the clock. But what do I do if I say something to her about it, and she doesn't care and cuts my hours, and if I go to someone higher than her and they don't care, and if I keep climbing the ladder tell cooperate, and nothing happens. Then what do I do, cause something is telling me this is not right.

Me and my fiance moved into our apartment's in september of 09. Our first apartment was clean it was a one bedroom and I was pregnant then his little sister moved in and the landlord said we had to get a two bedroom. When we seen the first two bedroom it was nice but we couldn't keep our dish network which we didn't have the money to do. The only other apartment was crap she made us fix stuff up like a plumber fixed a pipe by cutting a piece or the sheet rock out in the wrong place and was never repaired a knife hole in the door cigarette burn's in the carpet quarter size hole's in the wall don't get me started on the bathroom the shower was and still is gross there was mold in all courner we took picture's but the camrea is gone we want out now but we need our deposit or is it just not worth it?Please help our family!

Open Question: Job Resume Help Please...?

I don't know if I should put certain things on my resume. My first real job was at a yogurt place and I worked there for a month in the summer and she fired me because she thought I'd be too preoccupied with school and work. I want to put that on my resume but my mother says I shouldn't because if employers called she'd give a bad reference etc. I also worked very very briefly at a shoe store but they fired me too because they realized that they hired too many people then they could afford (start of the recession) and I also worked temporarily at a big event in the downtown area of my hometown. My mother says I should put the shoe store and event on there and not the yogurt shop but I can't even remember the supervisors names of the shoe place and the event but she says put it on anyway and i'm feeling really apprehensive. What do you think looks better?

Open Question: Can a HOA put a lien on my property despite not having knowledge there was a HOA at closing?

When I purchased my property in Dec 2009 in FL it was never disclosed that there was a HOA. Then a few days ago, I get a bill from them. According to my neighbor, there was one at one time a while back but now they want to start it up again. Am I obligated to pay them anything? What can they do legally if I dont pay? Can they actually put a lien on my property? Does anyone have a clue? I do not live in a gated community or condo. I live in a developement that is populated with manufactured homes on property (mine is 2 acres). We all take care of our own land. I did my home work before I purchased and also read all paperwork before I signed. When this was brought up a few days ago, I looked through everthing AGAIN. There is no mention of any HOA anywhere. There are no facilities to maintain. Everything here is county maintained. It's not the money, its the principal.

Open Question: UK Landlord Question... Right to quiet enjoyment clarification...?

We live in London, England and I'm looking for clarification in regards to the right to quiet enjoyment law. We pay our rent weekly, and in our contracts, (which we have found out aren't technically legal but we are all out of these illegal contracts and onto rolling contracts now) it states that the Landlord collects the rent on Sundays, quite frequently when we have all put our monies into the safe by Sunday the Landlord does not turn up on that day to collect rent, and basically comes in at anytime after it to collect the rent sometimes its morning sometimes evening and there seems to be no correlation to the day what day he turns up after it. My question relates to this point - as he is collecting rent is he violating the 'Right to quiet enjoyment' by not giving us 24 hour notice. The more detail given in responses the better, do not leave a short reply I would like details, especially if they are of your own personal experiences.

Open Question: IRS Workers....If there is any on here?

How accurate is the Irs WMR website? We filed our taxes in Feb and had to mail them, checked the WMR and it says the following: We have received your return and it is being processed, unless we find mistakes or you owe other taxes you should have your refund by April 20, 2010. I have been told they only deposit on Fridays, so I called the IRS and have gotten 3 different answers. One said the date is just there b/c they don't deposit on Tuesdays, and the 2nd person said they are not sure (WTH) and the last person said they normally do deposit on Fridays but with this new CAD (I think) they deposit everyday and that the MR is correct but we might get a DD date and we might not.. SO any help from someone working with IRS taxes would be wonderful so my question is is the information the WMR correct, does that mean i will get refund on April 20 as stated b/c there is no DD date on the message

Open Question: Is it really better not to accept a 3 months contract for work?

My cousin found another job and went for it, she signed the 3 months initial trial contract and she was doing well and everything was fine but in the middle of the trial she noticed how her job was getting less and less busy.... as a result she was dismissed due to the low demand in the business.... So now she has no job and is not so easy to find a good one out there.... This is terrible!! Well what to do but just go through this... Anyway the question is... is it really worthy not to accept a 3 months contract and rather find a job with a permanent contract straight away? Because in this situation she quit a job for good but now she is unemployed! If she didn't accept this trial then the company probably wouldn't have taken her in But the thing is that heaps and most of companies do this trial period and we don't want to be without a job you see.. how to know, what is the best thing to do then when looking for another job?? How to do it safely?

I DON'T MIND HELPING THE ELDERLY, AND THE LEGALLY DISABLED BUT.........I am so sick and tired of taking care of sorry, no-good baby making people and the men that they let shack up with them in section -8 housing. LOL!! All of us was lauging and cheering the cashier on haha!! IS ANYONE ELSE TIRED OF PEOPLE ABUSING OUR WELFARE SYSTEM?

Open Question: What can I do if my landlords refuse to honor their words?

The on-site manager agreed to provide an used refrigerator without charge when I was signing the leasing contract. When I moved in to the apartment, there was an used refrigerator in the unit. Everything is good. However, after few days, I received the notification of they are going to charge me monthly on the refrigerator. The on-site manager stated that she was doing me a favor but the owner refused to that. After few days of emailing back and forth with the owner, he insist I better pay the rent for the refrigerator and refused to honor their promise. They sent me a "Change of Term" because they said my lease agreement does not show that a refrigerator is provided in my unit, and also included the refrigerators monthly rent on top of my apartment's monthly rent. They stated that if the refrigerators rent was not included, a late fee will be applied. I felt that this "bait-and-switch" is really a bad business practice. It has nothing to do with money. It has to do entirely with the principle of the matter. Please let me know how can I serve them right and make them to keep their promises. Thanks.

I've got this idea that has high potential, if it gets implemented.. It requires good administration and capital to get it done. When it comes to operation, it could be of great help to the people, and possibly the whole society. The system is more related to the internet and networking field. So, I would like someone, who would really take his/her time to read through my report and assess the benefits of my plan, and can make it happen. I would like to contact major companies like Microsoft and Google, regarding my idea. How can I contact the higher personnel (in Google, Microsoft, etc)? If possible, please get me their e-mail address (or mailing address). I went through some of the resolved questions related to this topic. I have noticed that some of the experts on the topic have mentioned about patenting. They have stated, if my idea isn't patented, the company could steal my idea and I could sue them. And, due to this reason, some companies don't even care to go through ideas which are not patented. Is ithis true? And, relating to my proposition; my idea is not an invention and does not have anything to do with technology? It can work fine on the current technology that is available. Open Question: My parents are broke and all their savings are gone (UK question)?

The last two years for my parents have been like a financial cautionary tale. My dad blew his savings on an investment in rented accommodation, over which he lost over £50,000. In the Christmas before last, not long after I dropped out of college due to depression, my parents moved into a smaller house and my dad left his job to take up a freelance networking job, which involved him pouring money into a franchise and working ridiculous hours with no return whatsoever. Any savings my parents had left were sapped dry in the year that my dad was involved with these people. Now we are living off the £200 board/rent I am paying (I am unemployed) and my mother's job as a courier while my dad is trying to make small amounts of money as a fundraiser in the debt capital market. I hope he never ever pulls a stunt like this again. My dad has taken not only one, but two disingenuous financial risks that have been nothing less than catastrophic. Both of my parents are in their early sixties and because my mother works as a parcel courier on a freelance basis herself and has not paid stamp duty, her pension will be peanuts and she will never have any savings whatsoever to fall back on. To make matters worse, my mother is being overworked in her job and is being paid less than the equivalent of the national minimum wage. Dad has also never paid stamp duty. The matter of my dad's age will make it difficult for him to find work again, despite his extensive experience working as a financial consultant. I feel as if my parents are at a dead end. My mother is getting more and more depressed and unhappy and is too old to do the job she is doing and it is really upsetting. All because my dad arrogantly refused to learn from his mistakes. I am terrified that the amount of work they are going to have to do well into their old age will send them to an early grave and then there is me. I dropped out of university and have zero work experience and it's extremely hard to find an employer who will take me on. I am also chronically disorganised and have social phobia from being bullied all my life and get extremely paranoid and anxious in crowds of people or while travelling on public transport. I have few friend and if I lost them, I would be living on borrowed time and there would be nobody who could help me.

Open Question: How to get your boss to help you gain exposure to other outside areas within company?

I am currently way over educated for the job I have and the workload I have has become increasingly burdensome with tighter time constraints and an ever increasingly pesky client. I am also very underpaid. The group within my company that works with this client really dreads the work we do because they are a tough group to work with. However, it is the only work I work on. Other project managers make twice as much money as me. I recently graduated, and was offered a small pay increase on top of what I was being paid as a part-time graduate student working at less than what an internist gets at the parent company. I still make less than what I hear internists get at the parent company. I asked for a pay increase and was turned down. I am payed as a contractor with no benefits. I am currently working on reconciling and cleaning up to close out a large set of projects that were constructed with minimal record-keeping, or at least, the the right kind of record keeping. This makes my job to close up these jobs incredibly difficult, because our client, a government agency, requires that all documentation and records of quantities and prices tie out to be perfect. There are many other opportunities going on within the company. Although, I wander infrequently outside my computer screen which is usually opened to the same set of excel spreadsheets all week long, racking my head against the keyboard as I make incremental progress on closing these jobs out, while balancing my other responsibilities and the periodic hour to hour requests of our client. My boss currently brought on another new project manager to help on our projects. He has really no experience in the types of projects we are doing, although he is pretty highly educated, Masters, like myself. He's about my age as well. I managed to see the other day that he is being paid almost double my wage. Furthermore, the projects he's working on are not the menial, trivial, high pressure painful tasks I am working on. This drove me through the wall, because, I am struggling to make ends meet, shouldering a lot of responsibility, and they are denying me a pay increase and now bringing a new person in at double. All the other project managers out in the field make double what I make as well. Now, the project management role they have isn't the ideal role as a career for me, and there may be other opportunities within the company I would have more interest in being exposed to. So, as I get riled up, I am reminding myself that it would be better to focus on trying to come up with a way to get my boss on my side, and having some sort of agreement where I get this work done for him for now, and can train someone to take over my role, and he can help catapult me into being exposed into other areas of the company and eventually leave the position I am in. Open Question: I need help! My Gas company is trying to scam me! What can I do?

I moved to my current address in December of 2008. When I moved the electricity and gas was already on. So I had to go to both and get the bills switched to my name and start anew with my accounts. The electric company was the one who got it right while the gas company is trying to get over on me. In June of 2009 I received a bill over the amount of $1,400. This amazed me, since my bill was usually no more than $150.00. I knew this had to be a mistake so I called them up to see what the problem was. Come to find out, they were charging me for January of 2008 all the way to November of 2008, a whole 11 months that i did not live in the house. (Remind you I did not move into my current house UNTIL December of 2008.) They told me that I was trying to get over on them by living in the house (My current address) and not pay the gas bill. Which made no sense because I was at my previous address at the time. My question to them was how would I be able to live in both houses at the same time? Why would I put my previous address gas bill in my name and PAY IT EACH MONTH, then go live off someone else's gas and mine? That makes no sense. So in order for it to be fixed I would have to prove I did not live at my current address in January of 2008 all the way to the end of November. This annoyed me, since I had to miss work to do their job for them. They could have easily contacted the people who lived in the house before I moved in and got them to pay their own bill. Instead they wanted to pin it on me. I had to gather up all my receipts for rent from my previous address from January to November and fax it to them. I also had to fax my lease from my previous address and the lease from my current address as well. So there, they had all the evidence in front of them stating that I did not live in the house the 11 months they were charging me for. But the bill came back the next FOUR months with the $1,400.00 and change still attached to it. So in October I called once again. This time I talked to a customer service rep who told me that if I paid my normal monthly bill in full that he would fix my bill and balance it back to $0, so I did. Then the following month in November of 2009 the bill came back with just my balance a little over $5.00. I was relieved, until I got the next bill in December with the $1,400 on it again. I gave up trying to talk and reason with them and just paid my monthly bill of $150.00 and no more. But since the weather is about to break they are threatening to cut it off if I don't pay a bill that is not mine. I need someone's help. I tried and tried to talk to them and get this cleared up but they keep pinning someone else's bill on me. I have two small children in my house, 2 & 3 yrs old. Open Question: I want to sue Chase Bank, Chase stole money from my account.?

On 05 March 2009, I made cash withdrawal of $ 900 from my checking account (I have the receipt). However, when I check my account later in the day, my account showed a withdrawal of $ 1900. I only made a $ 900 withdrawal and don’t know where the $ 1000 came from. The next morning I talked to the bank manger and told them that I only made a withdraw of $ 900, she told me they will look the case, she took the copy of the receipt too. However, all peaceful means didn’t work; they finally said the teller gave me $ 1900. She showed me the video footage, the video footage is not clear enough and do not show do not show the $ 1900, a blind man can tell the money the teller has in his hand is less than $900. At that time I was a student and even reported to police and to the University official... but chase said no..., my last option is to take legal action, but at that time I have less than $ 200 in my account and couldn’t proceed that way. Finally I got a job and left the state and the university, still I am very mad with Chase Bank, it is not the $ 1000.00 that made me mad, the way it happened, the teller and the manger that covered up the case have to be fired. By the way I reported the case to the controller of the currency, this office contacted Chase Bank, but the bank didn’t respond to their letter. My question is how easy to sue a bank in another state (Wisconsin) while I am now living in Pennsylvania, can I sue the bank from PA? Looking forward to hear from you Sincerely
