Open Question: Can I get the first time home buyers tax credit if I purchased my house in 2008?

We purchased our house and closed on Dec. 30th 2008 ... TWO days before the tax credit started. Is there any way possible that we can still qualify for it. If we would have known about it we would of waited until 2009. :(
