Open Question: Can I get insurance in my dads name?

Due to 2 small fender benders in bad weather over the past 3 years, I'm having trouble getting cheap insurance for my motorcycle. So....can I have my dad insure it in his name with me as a secondary driver? Allowing it to be cheaper and me still be covered? And still have the title and registration in my name?
