Open Question: demand for IP lawyers in 5-10 years?

I am interested in becoming an IP lawyer, but will most likely not graduate from law school for another 5-10 years. I plan on working as a biologist for a few years after undergrad to make some money. Will IP lawyers be in more or less demand by the time I graduate? I assume the demand will be higher, because of the current economic situation. Should I just take out loans and go directly to law school if possible?
