Open Question: Do I need to cancel my debit card?

I'm new to ebay, just made my account the other day. There was a ps3 for $1. I payed the one dollar. I noticed later he had written that he would draw names from a hat and for people not to complain, what's fair is fair. On my page, now, it shows that I won the ps3. It seemed like a mistake so I asked about it on here. People are saying that it was a scam, that he took my dollar and someone said for me to cancel my credit card and bank accounts because it allows them to find it. I'm 18. Never had to cancel a card before. If I need to, what all do I have to do?
