Open Question: I don't know what to do with my life!?
I'm a freshman in high school and I get really good grades. We've been doing a lot of career planning but I have no idea what I want to do. I go back and forth like every day between psychologist, orthodontist, biomedical researcher, homicide investigator, FBI agent, chiropractor, anesthesiologist, chef, etc., etc. The latest is that I want to join the military. I'm just running in circles and have no clue which direction to turn! It's really frustrating because I'm constantly being asked by my school what I'm going to do and I just don't have a clue. Most of the other students have been decided for years and they tell me to just follow my passions, but I'm so spread out. I love science, I love helping people, I love law, I love cooking; I just have too many interests. I know I want to follow a career that is going to pay well. I want to be able to provide a good life for my children, own a nice house/cars, travel, go to sports games, concerts, plays, etc. I want my job to be able to provide an extremely comfortable financial situation for myself and my family. I know I'm going to have to start applying for college in about a year or year and a half, but I have no clue which direction I want to turn. Any advice?

Open Question: Please help me narrow down my career options?
Hey, i'm 16 years old, in Year 11 & live in Australia. I finish school in a year & a half, and i really have no idea about what i want to do in the future. I know some people may think its too early, but I want to aim for something! I want to have a career goal or something. So please, help me choose :) The subjects i excel in at school are: English Legal Studies Studio Arts Visual Communication & Design (VCD) [this is technically observational drawing, technical drawing, photoshop etc.] I really hate maths & science, as i pretty much fail or just pass every exam, so i've dropped all my sciences' & am only doing General Maths to keep some of my options open. Although i'm doing two art-y subjects, i don't think i want to pursue a career having to do with art, although fashion design seems alright, its not one of my top options. Somehow, i got really great at Legal Studies this year, and its become one of my top subjects. In other cases, i would consider a career to do with legal studies, but meh, i find it pretty boring. I love english! its awesome. I find it fun to write essays and stories (my friends think i'm mental :P) So i'll probably want something to do with english. Please, help narrow down what i can do in the future. I'd really appreciate it! :D

Me and my mother are joining a business and therefore we would be owning our own part of it, it is in the network marketing field. I don't have all the money to start up on my own right now although I will have it in a couple weeks. My boyfriend is signed up under the same company but my mother was in before him and tole me about it first. My boyfriend who has lots of experience in this field and is very educated and would make a GREAT sponsor said will give me the money if I sign up under him. In network marketing you make your money and more money that way. My mom is very computer illiterate, she's very lazy, and wants me to learn everything first, and I'd end up doing all of the foot work, and probably slowing my progress because of it... I don't even know if she will put as much time in it as I will. My boyfriend has lots of experience and would be able to teach me a lot and I would prosper much more from working with him. I'm having a guilty conscience because she NEEDS my help but I don't want to end up doing EVERYTHING!!! But she did tell me about it first and she absolutely can loan me the money to start up, she just doesn't want to! The faster I start up the better, but she and I live together, I just moved back in with her a week ago. I mean I love my mother, it's mother's day time, but she is trying to beat me at the game and doesn't want to help me get started and I could make her much more money if she'd just help me start now. Do I let my boyfriend help me out and we support each other or do I go under my mother and pull all the weight? I pretty much know the business and I taught her about everything she knows and I myself haven't even opened my business yet. I'm confused... Is blood really thicker than water? Or is it just the way business is? HELP!!! My head is about to EXPLODE! FYI: me and my mom haven't had the best relationship, its getting better, but if she get mad I could move out.
Open Question: Boss trying to make me quit. What should I do?
I have been working at my current job for the past 8 years. About for years ago new management has taken over. The old management loved me and I was high on the totem pole but when the new management took over I feel that they have been trying to peg me and find little things wrong so they can get rid of me. I am a very hard worker and hear nothing but good things from my coworkers and supervisors but yet the owner/main supervisor says that she is hearing complaints about me and no one else. They have also not given me any more responsability claiming that they don't feel its good for the buisness because I'm a student and therefore a flight risk. They come up with all kinds of things that Im doing wrong but have of the time they are wrong and don't have there facts straight. They claim that my coworkers are complaining but yet these are the same group of employees that they are giving the opportunities too and they same ones that all hang out together after work with sometimes the boss being included in their outings. I feel like I'm being discriminated against because I choose to abstain from going out with coworkers after hours. They have flat out told me that they feel that I need to find another job and that they feel they might be better off with out me. However my boss tells me I am a likable person and do a great job for her. I don't know what to do I want to quit because everyday is painful working my but off and getting praise in public but suppossingly in private I'm being brought down. I haven't had a formal review in quite sometime even though the other employees have my conversations with the management come only after the fact ( like when a coworker got in my face and cussed me out because she stuck her nose in my buisiness and I told her I didn't appreciate it, but yet I got the heat for it because A) she is a memeber of the afterwork coworker party and B. she is a minority). When I moved father away from my job due to getting married and having to relocate they also told me then to look for another job closer to home. I just don't know what to do my pride hurts and at this point I have looked and looked for new job but haven't been successful cause no one seems to be hiring. I want to quit but cannot afford to. What should I do I need advice.
Open Question: Are you reasonable for medical bill if you passed out and falls at the doctors office?
A friend of mind had been going to workers comp client urgent care for job injury which included headaches, dizziness, shoulder and neck pain. She also was seeing a psychologist for Major Depression which workers comp is paying for. She had been telling the work comp doctor that she had been having panic attacks. When she signed in and they didn't ask her what she was being seen for. That same clinic had previously given her medication for dizziness. She kept complaining of the dizziness getting worst, pain and her shoulder and neck also. She couldn't take it any longer so she called and asked is they take walk in patients. They said yes. When she got there she waited to be seen. Just before she was called to the back to see the doctor, she started feeling like headed. Seconds past and they called her back. When she stood to walk over to the assistant, she pasted out and fell to the floor, hitting her head. She didn't pass out, but they could not get her to respond to light, or her name. They called for an ambulance SAT. She went to the ER and had CT, MRI and they found nothing. It took them a long time to get her to come around. She would only mumble and wasn't making any since. All her test came back negative. She spent the night in the hospital and was discharged with Syncope as her diagnosis. The hospital gave her a doctors name who does EEG's to see if she had a seizure. My question is will she be responsible for the medical bills? Or will the workers comp clinic have to pay?
Open Question: Possible options to avoid repossession?
OK here is the deal. My hours at work just got cut and my fiance just got laid off a couple weeks ago. Right now i pay all the bills. And as it stands, all my bills come out to just under what i make per month. Which means no money for food, gas, etc.. Obviously we are looking at cutting off non essentials (internet is an essential cuz she needs it to help find a new job). But things like cell phone and her car insurance may have to get cut and just use my car. Anyways, i own a motorcycle, that i was young and naive and got screwed over. To say the least, i pay a minimum $200 a month for it. However paying the minimum would take me 36 YEARS to pay off the loan. So I am looking at just letting it get repossessed. Unfortunately i absolutely hate to do it because for one i have excellent credit (around 700). Oh btw im 27 years old if that matters. But right now we are stuck living in the now just to make it by and have a roof. I understand the possible future consequences of this decision but I have no choice at the moment. But here is where my question comes in. I owe about 15K on the loan (please no lectures, my trade in was upside down big time). And have been paying on this for over 2 YEARS. Mostly just the minimum but occasionally a little more. If anyone has any WORKING experience (as being a customer isnt all that helpful in this case unless you have extensive background information on the subject) i could use some advice. If i call the loan company (HSBC) i was going to speak to them about refinancing. However this would need to be a pretty extreme refinance for me to consider keeping the loan. 178 of the 200 i pay a month goes to interest. the loan is at just under %13 interest. The pretty much only way i could keep the loan is if they took all of the money currently paid off the top end of the loan and refinance the remainder at a lower fixed interest rate. Do you think this is possible or am I just thinking with my head up my butt? If a little confused on what i mean here is what im trying to explain. I owe about 15K because of all the interest I have paid. I have paid roughly 5K towards the account and seen it dwindle a couple hundred which makes me cry inside lol. What i say about taking off the top, is taking the 5k off the 15 and dropping it to 10K and refinance the 10K at a lower interest. Just let me know what to expect. I'm assuming its not gunna happen but who knows. Im more than expecting to just voluntarily turn the bike in and saying sayonara.

what profession do you think is right for me? i guess i'll tell you a little bit about myself. i'm from Russia, but i live in the US. i'm seventeen years old, and a junior in high school. if i could say the top ten things people say about me, it would be that i'm an overachiever, fun, intelligent, beautiful, ambitious, and patient. ^^ i know some of these don't matter, but that's just what i'm told. i can speak almost fluently eight languages: Russian (my first language), English, French, Arabic, German, Czech, Spanish, and Italian. i also just started learning Romanian. i play varsity volleyball at school, i take piano lessons, i tutor, and i take dancing lessons. grades: english- 97 social studies- 96 band (i play the flute) - 100 math- 94 science- 98 italian- (i'm learning this in school) 100 french- (learning in school) 101 i honestly don't know what i would want to do, or what i should do. for what would i be best suited? thanks so much :) -- i know i sound like a total geek who loves school, but i'm really the opposite.

So I work for a restaurant at two separate locations(still same company). I am paid with two separate checks. I work double shifts going from one to the other at least 5 times a month always working more than 8 hours of course split between the two locations. I am considering taking a side gig where I would be responsible for managing a group of college students coming to Beijing, where I reside, to do internships. Part of the arrangement would be being on 24 hour call in case of emergencies. I can only imagine the types of trouble study abroad university students can get into. hi we have been renting out place for about 9 months now and we have not been happy to say the least. My wife and I haven't been on a vacation in 3 years since our honeymoon because of my first job not giving me paid time off for two years and we had a baby last July. Now I get laid off after working an average of 70 hrs a week for about a year. The baby is old enough and we are ready for a break. We would like to go to NY and visit family for 3 weeks, but of course if I don't apply for 2 jobs a week, technically we get cut out of pay for those weeks. We need the money. Can we take the trip and still get the benefits without having to even apply for jobs online? Or does the chances of getting audited outweigh taking that chance?

So I managed to land a job in this economy. After eight months of searching, I ended up working for the post office. The only thing is that my job is very temporary and all Casuals are constantly on the verge of being fired. Also since I work from midnight to 7:30 without a car, the commute is rather grating and I have hardly any free time. I can't hang out with anyone on my nights off. I don't have a college degree and the only real skill i have outside of the post office is developing film but I think that's dying out. I'm willing to work retail to keep my apartment but I'd rather not (if so, I'd like to work in the backroom somewhere). Any advice on anything I've rambled on would be great.

I need help, I'm 24 and I hate my job, I use to work at a boarding kennel but found I was being seriously underpaid for what I was doing. I have a dog grooming certificate, cert 2 and 3 in customer contact (which basically means I can talk to people woo) I have advanced computer skills, type at 52 words per minute. I currently work from home completing surveys on the phone. the pay is ok, but I miss being able to talk with co-workers and the work is so boring. Although, the motel owner has never showed any type of respect or appreciation for extra tasks and time that I put into the motel, he has mentioned that I am his best housekeeper and that he has been praying for someone like me to help make the rooms look better. To make a long story short ... I was recently physically attacked by a previous guest, who showed up at the motel and began to harass me while I was working. She approached me and threatened to hit me and then she proceeded to slam my head up against a cement wall twice. As I walked to my motel room to avoid any further problems, she punched me in the back of my head. I called the police and made a report. The following day, the motel owner fired me and gave me 24 hours to move out. When I asked what the reason was for this sudden decision, he didn't have an answer. He just said that he can't have "problems" at his motel and it's time for me to go. I'm a single mother with no car or another place to live. I thought my job and housing were somewhat secure, being that I worked in exchange for my rent. There has to be something I can do to allow me more time to come up with a plan and get some money to move into another place. I also know there are laws and tenants rights. Do I have tenants rights, since I have been living at this motel for 5 nearly 5 months? Does the motel owner have to evict me through the courts, the same way any landlord would deal with a residential eviction? Can an employer fire an employee for being harrassed and injured while on the job?

Open Question: How can I live on my own?
Well it become clear to me that my step dad and my mom want me out of their house. Ever since I could remember my parents have always found a way to just explode about little things. They always demanded that my grades were 4s (in elementry school) and A in the rest. I would be punished severly if I didn't live up to their standards or gave them attitude. Well my parent did get me this iPhone I have and the plain room I am in now. They were very strict about me going out I could not stay out past 10:00pm and I had to always let them know ahead of time where I was going a week in advanced. I also babysat my bro and sister for three years constantly while my parents worked. Now that I have been working and am hardly home my parents have been saying that I don't contribute to this family. Both my parents are now unemployed and have been at home constantly. They say I'm disrespectful and don't do anything. I'll add that I do procrastinate when it come to my homework and that pisses them off to no end. So now to expose the straw that broke the camels back. Last week I had off from school and all I did was work and hang out with my friends mostly coming home just to sleep. Now today I was supposed to turn in my school work and I prolonged it till Friday and that really pissed them off. So as I was playing around with my siblings my little brother got mad at my and started crying so my step dad comes out yell about how I can't play with my little brother or sister and that I'm disrespectful to my mom. He come out like he wants to tear me to shreds both phisically and emotionally. He says I need to get out soon because I don't deserve to live here. I feel like my time living at home is coming to an end. I have a job that pays 8.10 an hour I have no car but I have a bike and I still have high school which if all goes well I should graduate in June. I don't know where I'd go if I'd be able to pay rent and what about my dearms of furthering my education. This may be whiny but please I really need some advice. I don't want to end up some person who went nowhere with his life.

I can borrow $50,000 from my 401k for my new home. What I am wondering is - is it better to borrow $40,000 from my 401k and then take an early withdrawal $10,000 from my Roth IRA, or is it better to borrow $50,000 from my 401k? Open Question: Under the new healthcare bill, why would I even want insurance if the insurance companies cannot refuse me?
Why would one pay thousands each year for insurance when in the event of a catasrophic event , the insurance company must cover someone even with a pre-existing condition? Why wouldn't most people just pay regular doctor visit fees for prventive care and if a serious event or illness occurs , tell the insurance company "Hi how are you , i,m your responsibilty now"
