Open Question: How do you calculate taxes & discounts in Ontario without a calculator?

For example: If a t-shirt was $20 how much would that be with tax? For discounts: Theres a t-shirt for $20 but it's 10 % off ? Any tips? I'm not that good at mental math but I would like to know how to solve it
