Open Question: What happens if you just stop paying your credit card? Just a bad credit rating for 7 years?

Or any ideas how to pay something like this ($16,000) off without getting two more jobs on top of full time job I have now? I make around 60 a year ... most of the debt came from paying lawyers from a divorce (insult to injury...)
